Georgian Bath And Craft Beer Photo Walk - Saturday 16th November

£67.00

See the best of Bath in one photo walk

Bath has beautiful classic views. On this walk, suitable for all types of camera, we will see the best of them, including the famous Circus and Royal Crescent. But you will also be shown how to make some unusual images from these locations.

If that sounds good, this workshop is for you!

In a relaxed, informal group of no more than eight people, we head out for around two and a half hours to see the best of classic Bath. We visit the Circus, the Royal Crescent, Victoria Park and some interesting side streets.

Matt is on hand throughout the walk to point out the best locations and images. He will give feedback and tutoring where requested. And you are shown some very different ways to capture an area that has been highly photographed.

Afterwards, we head to Bath’s best craft beer taproom (believe me, I have tried many to find the best!). After a tutored beer tasting (included in the price of the workshop), or soft drinks, wine or cocktails, we share our images, receive feedback and celebrate what we have created!

Your tutor for the session is Matt Parker

Matt is an experienced photographer who has been creating images for many years. He has published four books of his work and his prints and cards are widely available.

Matt is a professional trainer and has studied brain friendly learning. He is on hand throughout the session to make sure that you receive tips, personal feedback and inspiration.

Two beautiful A5 art prints of your work are included

At the end of the session, you choose two of your images and Matt will create physical versions suitable for display. (These are delivered by post after the event.)

The details

The workshop starts at 1pm. The walk finishes at around 3.30pm. We plan to stay at the taproom for around an hour but you are very welcome to stay much longer if you wish!

Please bring your own camera and plenty of batteries. Please note that Bath is usually crowded so this walk is not tripod friendly.

The workshop involves some gentle walking, including some uphill. Please make sure you dress appropriately for the weather.

This workshop is subject to a minimum of four people booking.

Testimonials

I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Matt and learned so much. Matt is an excellent tutor and presented the information in a clear and accessible way. He encouraged us to use our mobile phone cameras to take pictures that went deeper than the usual quick snaps. We also spent a little time on editing software which I found very useful. I took a photo that I really love which I had printed and have hung on the wall at home. I highly recommend this training if you want to explore better mobile phone photography.

I was lucky to be a participant in one of Matt's smartphone sessions.

The day revolved around thinking about what you want to say in your photos - how to construct a scene, how to choose angles, viewpoints and also how to edit your pictures to manage this.

For someone whose main ideas of photos previously had been a recorder of family events, the course was an eye opener.

The main attraction, however, is Matt's experience and ability to put this across. Matt has an excellent portfolio to illustrate his ideas and is a clear communicator in getting this across.

Very highly recommended.

Matt’s photography training simplified the photography process. He inspired me to be much more creative, seeing photographic possibilities in a whole range of subjects. I’d really recommend one of his workshops.
