Creative photography on the By Brook - Box - Wednesday 4th June 10.30am & Saturday 7th June
Part of the Box Wild Waters festival – a celebration of Nature + Community
Your ticket price includes a £5 donation to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.
The By Brook is a very special place
Imagine if you could:
See the By Brook through new eyes
Make stunning images of what is in front of you
Create more artistic views of rivers and water in general
If that sounds good, this photo walk is for you!
In a relaxed, informal group of no more than 15 people, we head out to three great locations on the By Brook. You learn great ideas for how to show the beauty of the scene in front of us.
We will focus on:
Reflections
Movement and flow
Trees, grass and water
This walk is suitable for all levels of photographer and all types of camera, including phone cameras. Matt will help with basic tuition in all areas. However, please note that this is not a technical workshop and Matt may not know all the details of your particular camera!
Your tutor for the session is Matt Parker
Matt is an experienced photographer who has been creating highly praised images for many years. He has published four books of his work and his prints and cards are widely available.
Matt is a professional trainer and has studied brain friendly learning. He is on hand throughout the session to make sure that you receive tips, personal feedback and inspiration.
Upgrade to receive two beautiful A5 art prints of your work
For just £10 you choose two of your images the end of the session and Matt will create physical A5 versions with art paper and archival inks, ready for framing. You can also choose one A4 image if you would prefer. (Prints are delivered after the event.)
The details
Please bring your own camera and make sure that it is fully charged.
Meet outside the Selwyn Hall at 10.30. The walk will last for 2.5 hours.

Testimonials
I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Matt and learned so much. Matt is an excellent tutor and presented the information in a clear and accessible way. He encouraged us to use our mobile phone cameras to take pictures that went deeper than the usual quick snaps. We also spent a little time on editing software which I found very useful. I took a photo that I really love which I had printed and have hung on the wall at home. I highly recommend this training if you want to explore better mobile phone photography.

I was lucky to be a participant in one of Matt's smartphone sessions.
The day revolved around thinking about what you want to say in your photos - how to construct a scene, how to choose angles, viewpoints and also how to edit your pictures to manage this.
For someone whose main ideas of photos previously had been a recorder of family events, the course was an eye opener.
The main attraction, however, is Matt's experience and ability to put this across. Matt has an excellent portfolio to illustrate his ideas and is a clear communicator in getting this across.
Very highly recommended.

Matt’s photography training simplified the photography process. He inspired me to be much more creative, seeing photographic possibilities in a whole range of subjects. I’d really recommend one of his workshops.
