How to edit stand out images on your smartphone - online - special price until 28th June

£69.00

Your smartphone camera is a powerful photo editing tool

Did you know you can create impressive edits of images in just minutes using your smartphone. The trouble is that the standard editing apps that come with your smartphone don’t really cut it when it comes to creating memorable images.

There are some simple to use, free apps that can take your images to the next level. To get the most from them, you need

  • To understand exactly what you can do with these apps

  • To develop a creative vision (it’s easier than it sounds!)

  • To learn the hidden functionality in the apps

Introducing “How to edit stand out images on your smartphone”

In a relaxed, informal online group of no more than eight people, you learn the basics of successful image editing using your smartphone. And it only takes four hours.

We start with introductions and sharing our goals. Then there will be a session on editing vision and examples of just what can be done with the smartphone. Then you learn how to use the free Snapseed app, including a few very clever tricks!

After a short break, it is time for you to share the images you would like to work on and we’ll discuss how to realise your vision. Now it is time for you try out your new editing skills on your own images. Matt will guide you to ensure you achieve the best possible results. You have the chance to try a number of different editing styles. Finally, we share our images, receive feedback and celebrate what we have created!

Your tutor for the session is Matt Parker

Matt is an experienced photographer who has been creating smartphone images for many years. He has published four books of his work and his prints and cards are widely available.

Matt is a professional trainer and has studied brain friendly learning. He will lead this session and make sure that you receive tips, personal feedback and inspiration.

Two beautiful A5 art prints of your work are included

At the end of the session, you choose two of your images and Matt will create physical versions with art paper and archival inks, ready for framing. (These are delivered by post after the event.)

This workshop is delivered online by Zoom. Ideally, you will log on with your computer so you can use your smartphone or table for editing. The session starts at 9.30am UK time and finishes at around 1.30 pm. There will be a short break in the middle.

Testimonials

I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Matt and learned so much. Matt is an excellent tutor and presented the information in a clear and accessible way. He encouraged us to use our mobile phone cameras to take pictures that went deeper than the usual quick snaps. We also spent a little time on editing software which I found very useful. I took a photo that I really love which I had printed and have hung on the wall at home. I highly recommend this training if you want to explore better mobile phone photography.

I was lucky to be a participant in one of Matt's smartphone sessions.

The day revolved around thinking about what you want to say in your photos - how to construct a scene, how to choose angles, viewpoints and also how to edit your pictures to manage this.

For someone whose main ideas of photos previously had been a recorder of family events, the course was an eye opener.

The main attraction, however, is Matt's experience and ability to put this across. Matt has an excellent portfolio to illustrate his ideas and is a clear communicator in getting this across.

Very highly recommended.

Matt’s photography training simplified the photography process. He inspired me to be much more creative, seeing photographic possibilities in a whole range of subjects. I’d really recommend one of his workshops.
